Aimed at :
Open to all regular yoga practitioners via an application process oriented to your own practice and interest in yoga. You do not need to be an ashtanga yoga practitioner to join this programme but you do need to have a regular personal practice. Yoga teachers and student teachers are also very welcome as the course will complement your orthodox anatomy studies.
Course Overview
Calling on western, holistic and energetic models of anatomy, as well as yoga philosophy, we will develop a way of looking at the body that reflects both the spiritual and immensely practical goals of yoga.
This course combines practical asana practice, workshop style explorations and group work plus tutor presentations and discussions, home study of key texts and 5 written assignments based around your personal explorations. The course is not an academic anatomy programme although some reading and research will be required. It is a functional and experiential anatomy course that will develop a deep understanding of the goals of asana, as well as the ability to visualise limitations or obstacles in our own and other people's bodies.
