About Ade Belcham

Ade is a keen sea kayaker, wave watcher and hammock lounger. As well as teaching yoga he runs a company delivering environmental courses to business and public sector organisations.

Ade started a daily yoga practice in 1999 and was introduced to Ashtanga yoga in 2000 at one of Danny Paradise's workshops in Oxford. It was a humbling experience that was at once a complete revelation and inspiration. He studied with John and Lucy Scott between 2001 and 2004, and since then with Nancy Gilgoff (in Europe and Maui). He holds the British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma and has been sharing yoga with others since late 2003.

'My approach to teaching is based on two core beliefs :

  1. that yoga should be made accessible to anyone interested
  2. that the more I practice the more I realise there is to know.'

With these principles in mind - it is with humility that I offer assistance and guidance to those interested in learning or deepening their practice of the Primary and Intermediate Series of Ashtanga yoga. I aim to be faithful to the tradition of yoga and to my own teachers but also to bring my own enthusiasm and understanding to each class.'

In yoga,
